Everest Civil was awarded the Brennans Road Riverbank Restoration Project by the Goondiwindi Council, which aimed to remediate a section of embankment along the Macintyre River that was damaged due to recent floods.
SCOPE
- Removal of existing gabion rock wall
- Construction of piling platform to support the installation of sheet piling
- Installation of approximately 80m x 11m of sheet piling at the river's edge
- Placement of bulk rock and geofabric to prevent erosion and improve the overall resilience of the embankment
- Bulk earthworks
- Importation of select fill
- Relocation of electrical and water services
- Landscape restoration of the site's natural environment
EXECUTION
Everest Civil delivered the project with a 20 tonne excavator, fitted with integrated GPS, tilt hitch and a highly experienced operator, achieving a detailed design tolerance and high standard of delivery exceeding expected project timelines.
The execution successfully remediated the damaged section of the riverbank along the Macintyre River, ensuring its stability, protection, and long-term resilience against potential future flood events.
