Everest Civil delivered a large-scale road reconstruction program across Etheridge Shire following the 2024 flood event. The works focused on restoring critical transport infrastructure, improving resilience, and ensuring safe, reliable access for local communities.

Delivered under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), the project required coordinated execution across a broad regional footprint, with multiple active work fronts operating concurrently.

(01.)

SCOPE

  • Reconstruction works across 87 flood-damaged sites throughout the Etheridge Shire
  • Cement stabilisation of pavement across 36 floodways
  • Application of over 60,000m² of spray seal across multiple sites
  • Extensive pavement reconstruction to restore road integrity
  • Load and haul of 18,000m³ of pavement material across the region
  • Implementation of comprehensive traffic management across all work fronts
(02.)

EXECUTION

Everest Civil successfully delivered the program within the required timeframe, with no extensions of time or delays attributed to weather. Through detailed planning, coordinated resource allocation, and an experienced delivery team, works were carried out efficiently across multiple sites simultaneously. Our approach combined disciplined project management with strong on-ground execution, ensuring consistent quality across pavement stabilisation, spray seal application, and reconstruction activities. Traffic management was implemented seamlessly to maintain safety and minimise disruption to local road users.

The result was a well-executed recovery program that restored key road networks, enhanced long-term durability, and reinforced Everest Civil’s capability in delivering complex, multi-site infrastructure projects in regional environments.
